A Cruiser for a Change!

Two Broads holidays in one year! For the October half-term we chose a cruiser called Compass Maid 1 from Horning. We didn't have the best of weather this time and many of the photos were not good due to the rain so I had to discard them. However there are quite a few to give the flavour of the holiday.

This photo has quite a tale to it. Back in 1953 Mike had his first holiday on the Broads with his parents on a yacht called Orinoco and the story goes that his dad attempted to leave his mooring at Potter Heigham in full sail and forgetting to release the rope from the stake. It has been at this angle ever since and the boys wanted to have their photo taken trying to straighten it!

Three of the Pleasure Boat Inn and moorings ...

Two of Hunsett Mill ...

The next three are at Neatishead ...
